Lose Weight Tips Without Junk Food

One of the challenges in any weight loss program is having the right ingredients on hand to cook a low cal meal or throw together a healthy snack and still ensure the weight loss you want.

  
If your pantry is stocked with the wrong kind of food, generally high in fats or calories make sure to remove all of this. Try these 'Lose Weight Tips' using the right foods.

1. Eat foods influenced by Asian, Middle Eastern or Hispanic cultures as they include wonderful flavorings that make them exciting to eat! Flavorings are generally low in calories themselves and can add flavor-filled dimensions to many low calorie meals, so make sure that you have a variety of these on hand. Ingredients such as soya sauce and olive oil, as well as more commonly used salt, lemon salt and pepper can add taste to meat.

2. If you have a sweet tooth and need to include food to satisfy this at different times of each day, make sure that you stock up on low-cal fruit spreads or jams from the extensive range at the store.
Breakfast is often a meal where a serving of jam or spread on toast can be factored into your calorie count for the day without you feeling deprived.

3. Although not recommended for a large proportion of your diet, canned foods can substantially assist with weight loss when they are used to supplement other low cal foods. Because of their long lasting quality it is good to have a supply of foods like canned beans for an instant side vegetable dish, canned tomatoes and tomato paste to make home made bolognaise sauce, and unsweetened canned fruit for delicious desserts. Remember to throw some canned vegetables into winter casseroles.

4. The cost of fresh fruits and vegetables can be prohibitive sometimes but follow these 'Lose Weight Tips' and whenever you can afford these foods, go ahead and buy them. Search out the best store or market where you can often strike a good deal when buying, especially if when you purchase foods that are in season and readily available. Fruit and vegetables can remain in a weight loss menu in winter and fall if you search out the best brands of these foods when they are frozen.

5. Replace high-fat or sweet junk food with healthy, low calorie alternatives like pretzels, popcorn (without the butter), trail mix, low fat nuts or plain tortilla chips.  These will help satisfy your hunger and help you lose weight at the same time. Salsa or olive oil and a piece of pita bread is a snack much lower in calories than a packet of potato chips!

Following these 'Lose Weight Tips' and replacing all your unhealthy junk food will help you reprogram your own healthy eating patterns. Although changing old habits is not always easy and not having junk food in the house may upset you, stay strong and don’t stop snacking, just eat the healthier alternatives we’ve suggested.
